Owls Head is a 4,025 foot mountain in the White Mountains. My recording is so long because it recorded it’s way back home to me after I lost it!!!!!! I think there are 2 ways up. Take Route 112 East from I-93 past Loon to the Lincoln Woods WMNF fee parking area on the left side of the road. Trail easy to follow through the snow covered forest. Many people say this hike is easy to moderate but if you are out of shape (like I was) you will need to take many breaks due to the steep incline. It features a lot of flat hiking from the Lincoln woods trail, but ends with a quick and steep ascent on the rockslides on Owl’s Head that face the east side of Franconia Ridge. From there, it gets a little steeper, but it is a short trip from there to summit. This trail can also be found on ADK’s Trails of the Adirondacks High Peaks Map.
